Greece's Ministry of National Economy and Finance issued decisions by Alternate Minister Nikos Papathanasis approving the Regional Development Programs (RDPs) of Eastern Macedonia-Thrace, Western Macedonia and the Ionian Islands under the National Development Program (NDP) 2026-2030. The three programmes have a combined budget of EUR 481 million, including overcommitment. For each RDP, the allocation of the initial budget across development objectives was proposed by the region and approved following evaluation and recommendation of the General Secretariat for PIP and EPA. Eastern Macedonia-Thrace was approved with an initial budget of EUR 166 million and total available resources of EUR 215.8 million, allocating the initial budget to infrastructure and transport (EUR 50 million, 30.1%), social cohesion (EUR 40 million, 24.1%), green growth (EUR 35.68 million, 21.5%), civil protection and tackling the climate crisis (EUR 25.5 million, 15.4%), digital transformation and artificial intelligence (EUR 7.5 million, 4.5%), innovation, extroversion and competitiveness (EUR 4 million, 2.4%), and programme support (EUR 3.32 million, 2.0%). Western Macedonia has an initial budget of EUR 115 million and total resources of EUR 149.5 million, with the initial budget split between infrastructure and transport (EUR 65 million, 56.52%), civil protection and tackling the climate crisis (EUR 18 million, 15.65%), green growth (EUR 13 million, 11.3%), innovation, extroversion and competitiveness (EUR 8 million, 6.96%), social cohesion (EUR 7 million, 6.09%), digital transformation (EUR 2.5 million, 2.17%), and programme support (EUR 1.5 million, 1.3%). The Ionian Islands programme provides an initial budget of EUR 89 million and total resources of EUR 115.7 million, allocating the initial budget to infrastructure and transport (EUR 56.7 million, 63.7%), civil protection and climate crisis response (EUR 18.1 million, 20.3%), innovation, extroversion and competitiveness (EUR 4.7 million, 5.3%), administrative support (EUR 3.35 million, 3.8%), social cohesion (EUR 3.3 million, 3.7%), green growth (EUR 2.5 million, 2.8%) and digital transformation (EUR 350,000, 0.4%). With these decisions, the approval process for all Regional Development Programs submitted by Greece's 13 regions was completed, with a total budget of EUR 3.25 billion including overcommitment.

Greece's Ministry of National Economy and Finance approved the Regional Development Programs for Eastern Macedonia-Thrace, Western Macedonia, and the Ionian Islands under the National Development Program 2026-2030, with a combined budget of EUR 481 million. This completes the approval process for all Regional Development Programs across Greece's 13 regions, totaling EUR 3.25 billion.
