Bank of Indonesia published an update from the FEKDI x IFSE 2025 event highlighting regional digital transformation and payment digitalisation as a key driver of national economic growth, and announcing the launch of the KATALIS P2DD programme to strengthen capacity and literacy for digitalisation at the local-government level. KATALIS P2DD is positioned as an interregional synergy forum and knowledge hub to strengthen human resources in regional governments, increase fiscal literacy in local communities, expand digital payment channels for local taxes and levies, and improve accountability in public financial management. The central bank also set out its digital payment acceleration priorities around expanding acceptance and innovation, strengthening the payment system industry structure, and maintaining payment system infrastructure stability. Progress on regional government transaction electronification was reported through the first-half 2025 ETPD Index, with 91.8% or 501 out of 546 local governments assessed as having reached “Digital” status. Payment system developments showcased at the event included QRIS, BI-FAST, continued exploration of a central bank digital currency, and QRIS TAP, which has been adopted in 13 provinces for transport and, since its 30 October 2025 launch, implemented for Tap In-Tap Out across multiple Jabodebek transport modes and parking areas. A separate session also emphasised consumer protection and referenced the Joint Movement for Consumer Protection, GEBER-PK, as part of efforts to strengthen trust in digital payments. The FEKDI x IFSE 2025 event was scheduled to run until 1 November 2025, and QRIS TAP is planned to expand beyond transport to retail settings including shopping malls and MSMEs.
