The National Bank of Moldova has announced the initiation of work on a draft Executive Committee decision to approve preparatory measures for applying the European Union framework on cross-border payments. The initiative is linked to Moldova’s commitments as an EU candidate country under the 2025–2029 national accession programme and is intended to support application, from the date of accession, of Regulation (EU) 2021/1230 on cross-border payments in the Union. The National Bank of Moldova is inviting opinions, proposals and recommendations on the draft by 13 March 2026.
