The Brazil Securities Commission launched the 2026 World Investor Week campaign in Brazil, focusing on investor resilience, digital traps and protection against financial fraud. The global initiative, promoted by the International Organization of Securities Commissions and coordinated locally by the commission, runs from Oct. 5 to 11 and brings together financial institutions, exchanges, companies, universities and other organizations for investor education activities. The campaign encourages investors to maintain financial plans, emergency reserves, diversified portfolios and long-term strategies during volatile periods. It also highlights risks linked to artificial intelligence and digital platforms, including deepfakes, automated recommendations, misuse of personal data, phishing and relationship investment scams. Investors are urged to verify whether professionals and platforms are authorized and to be wary of unrealistic return promises. Maria Lucia Macieira, the commission’s superintendent of investor guidance and sustainable finance, emphasized informed decision-making and the need to avoid letting technology accelerate investment choices. She also highlighted the commission’s financial education work with Indigenous communities, young children, teachers and university students.
