The non-rural and base metals subindices increased in August, while the rural subindex declined. In Australian dollar terms, the overall index gained 0.1% in August and 5.8% over the year. Using spot prices for bulk commodities, the index rose 1.0% in August and 14.7% over the year in special drawing rights terms.
