The Brazil Securities Commission (CVM) has concluded an administrative sanctions proceeding and imposed a BRL 70,000 fine on Edson Jacintho Borges for failing, as liquidator of CCX Carvão da Colômbia S.A. – In Liquidation, to submit the company’s 2022 and 2023 registration forms to the regulator. The proceeding was brought by the Superintendence of Corporate Relations and concerned an alleged breach of Article 24 (sole paragraph) of CVM Resolution 80. CVM’s Board unanimously upheld the charge, following the vote of reporting director Marina Copola. The sanctioned party may appeal to the National Financial System Appeals Council, with suspensive effect.
