The Superintendency of Banking, Insurance and Private Pension Funds of Peru has appointed Oscar Basso Winffel as Deputy Superintendent for Risks, under a resolution published in the official gazette. Basso Winffel is an economist with a master’s degree in business and finance and has more than 35 years’ professional experience, including roles as a financial supervision advisor at the International Monetary Fund for the Central America office, risk manager and chief executive officer at Banco de la Nación, and head of financial institutions at the supervisor. He rejoined the authority in 2016 as Deputy Superintendent for International Affairs and Communications and, from 2018, served as the first Deputy Superintendent for Cooperatives.
