The Angola Capital Markets Commission participated in the 2nd BFA Capital Markets Conference in Luanda on “Sustainable Finance and ESG”, using the event to communicate how it sees capital markets supporting financing and the development of a more responsible, transparent market anchored in ESG principles. CMC Chair Elmer Serrão emphasised that investors should recognise Angola’s capital market as a safe pathway and that Angolan companies should treat it as a sustainable alternative for raising funds for development. Executive Administrator Herlânder Diogo joined the “Sustainable Finance and ESG” panel, presenting the regulator’s view that sustainability and strong environmental, social and corporate governance are key to building a capital market aligned with international best practices.
