The Joint Board of Appeal of the European Supervisory Authorities issued a decision determining the appeal costs to be reimbursed by the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) to NOVIS following NOVIS’s appeal against EIOPA. The Board had already ordered EIOPA in its 30 July 2024 decision to reimburse NOVIS’s costs for the appeal. After NOVIS submitted a breakdown of costs and EIOPA contested it, the Board’s 3 December 2025 decision confirmed its competence to decide on the allocation and taxation of costs, clarified that only costs that are objectively necessary and reasonable may be reimbursed, and set the total amount of costs to be reimbursed by EIOPA.
