The Central Bank of the Philippines (Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, BSP) swore in Department of Finance Secretary Frederick D. Go as a member of the Monetary Board, after President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. designated him as the Cabinet representative to the central bank’s policy-making body. He replaces former Department of Finance Secretary Ralph G. Recto. BSP Governor and Monetary Board Chairman Eli M. Remolona Jr. administered Go’s oath of office at the BSP Head Office in Manila on 08 January 2026. Other Monetary Board members listed in the release are Benjamin E. Diokno, Romeo L. Bernardo, Rosalia V. De Leon, Jose L. Querubin, and Walter C. Wassmer; the BSP also noted Go’s prior role as Special Assistant to the President for Investment and Economic Affairs and his private-sector experience, including as Chief Executive Officer of Robinsons Land Corporation.
