Bermuda’s Ministry of Finance reported that Premier David Burt met Ireland’s Minister of Finance, Paschal Donohoe, in Warsaw on the margins of the Eurofi Financial Forum, with discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two jurisdictions as globally connected financial centres. The dialogue highlighted shared economic characteristics and covered areas for closer collaboration amid global economic uncertainty. Donohoe specifically pointed to ongoing technical collaboration between the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) and the Central Bank of Ireland, particularly in the insurance sector, and both sides underscored the value of continued regulator-to-regulator engagement in insurance and digital finance. Following the Warsaw meetings, the Premier was scheduled to travel to London to continue official engagements with UK stakeholders before returning to Bermuda on April 15.
