The Central Bank of Russia has issued supervisory guidance recommending that creditors proactively contact borrowers in the Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk Regions who previously received repayment holidays or loan restructurings to assess whether further support is needed, and to extend repayment holidays for at least six months when requested. Banks are advised to rely on documents already submitted by borrowers and not request them again. The regulator also notes that interest accrual during any legally established payment suspension period is governed by the loan agreement, while pointing to creditor programmes that do not charge interest during restructuring as good practice with high social value.
