The Brazil Securities Commission met with the Institute for Climate and Society to discuss a Technical Cooperation Agreement for the creation and operation of the Brazilian Carbon Markets Observatory, or OBCarbono. The proposed observatory is framed as a public-interest structure focused on carbon markets. Its role would be to produce and systematize technical knowledge, support capacity building, promote institutional coordination and disseminate public information on carbon markets. The meeting took place at the regulator's headquarters in Rio de Janeiro and included senior CVM officials and technical representatives from the institute.
