HM Treasury has announced a cross-government package to help high-growth companies start, scale and stay in the UK, centred on a new tiered concierge service for promising scale-ups and additional measures to attract international talent. The service will work directly with firms that are ready to grow quickly, join up existing government support, and tackle barriers such as regulation, access to finance, procurement, delays and access to skilled workers. Supporting measures include a visa fee reimbursement scheme for scale-ups in digital and tech, life sciences, and clean energy, alongside strengthened work through the Global Talent Taskforce. An Office for Investment fast-track referral for a UK Expansion Worker sponsor licence is also being launched to help high-potential international businesses establish more quickly in the UK. The concierge offer will be developed with input from entrepreneurs and investors, and the Department for Business and Trade has launched a tender for a private sector partner to run a pilot to strengthen the UK scale-up pipeline while Peter Kyle has appointed Penny Verbe as Scale-Up Adviser.
