Oman's Ministry of Finance, in collaboration with the Central Bank of Oman, the Environment Authority and the Oman Net Zero Centre, held a London roadshow from Sept. 21 to 23 to present the country’s green finance readiness and sustainable finance framework. The delegation outlined Oman’s fiscal and economic performance, environmental, social and governance efforts and net zero strategy, while discussing investment and financing opportunities for green and sustainable projects across sectors. The roadshow supports efforts to broaden Oman’s investor base and attract foreign investment for its transition to a low carbon economy under Oman Vision 2040. Launched in January 2024, the sustainable finance framework was the first of its kind among Gulf Cooperation Council countries. It aligns with International Capital Market Association principles, received a Moody’s SQS2 sustainability quality score of very good and covers 14 categories eligible for sovereign sustainable financing for government entities.
