The Norwegian Financial Supervisory Authority has published an updated overview of the out-of-court debt collection costs that debtors may have to pay, following the Government’s decision to increase the debt collection rate (inkassosatsen) from NOK 700 to NOK 750. Under section 1-2 of the Debt Collection Regulations, fee-based compensation must be rounded to the nearest krone, which adjusts the fee for reminders and debt collection warnings from NOK 35 to NOK 38 and the fee for a payment request sent by the creditor from NOK 105 to NOK 113. The maximum rates for a debtor’s liability for out-of-court collection costs under chapter 2 of the regulations are not rounded to the nearest krone.
