Argentina’s Superintendency of Insurance participated in the ASSAL–International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) Regional Training Seminar for Latin American insurance supervisors in El Salvador, an event intended to exchange supervisory experiences and strengthen cooperation among regional authorities. Representing the agency, Valeria Hirschhorn, General Coordination Manager, delivered a presentation on good practices in supervising reinsurance contracts, drawing on Argentina’s experience. The programme also covered digitalisation and new technologies (including artificial intelligence and big data), progress in regional implementation of Solvency II and International Financial Reporting Standard 17 (IFRS 17), and the proportionality principle in supervision.
