The Bank of Namibia issued a media release welcoming the appointment of Mr Ebson Uanguta as the seventh Governor of the Bank of Namibia, for a five-year term effective from 1 January 2026. The appointment was made by H.E. President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah under Article 32(4)(b)(bb) of the Namibian Constitution, read together with Section 19 of the Bank of Namibia Act, 2020. The Bank highlighted Uanguta’s nearly 30 years of experience in economic policy development, macroeconomic research and central banking leadership roles, including starting his career as a researcher at the former Namibia Economic Policy Research Unit.
