The Bank of the Lao hosted a courtesy visit from a Belarus Development Bank delegation led by board chairman Siarhei Staliarchuk, with talks focused on strengthening banking-sector cooperation to facilitate financial transactions between the Lao PDR and Belarus. Deputy Governor Vatthana Dalaraloy welcomed the delegation and highlighted past Belarusian support for Lao development, while noting that existing cooperation between Belarus Development Bank and Lao commercial banks has helped facilitate bilateral trade and investment. Both sides assessed that Lao–Belarus cooperation in banking should continue to expand and cover a wider range of areas going forward.
