The Central Bank of Egypt published data showing remittances from Egyptians working abroad reached unprecedented levels in 2025 and continued to rise in the first half of fiscal year 2025/2026. Remittances increased by 40.5% year on year to about USD 41.5 billion in 2025 (from around USD 29.6 billion in 2024). During H1 of FY 2025/2026 (July to December 2025), inflows rose 29.6% to nearly USD 22.1 billion (from USD 17.1 billion in July to December 2024). On a monthly basis, December 2025 remittances grew 24.0% to about USD 4.0 billion, described as a record-high monthly level, compared with around USD 3.2 billion in December 2024.

The Central Bank of Egypt reported that remittances from Egyptians abroad surged by 40.5% to USD 41.5 billion in 2025. In the first half of fiscal year 2025/2026, inflows increased by 29.6% to USD 22.1 billion. December 2025 saw a record-high monthly remittance of USD 4.0 billion, up 24.0% from December 2024.
