The European Payments Council has opened a call for participation in the first phase of the pilot for its EPC Directory Service, intended to enable cross-border interoperability and reachability for the API-based Verification Of Payee scheme, including connectivity between scheme participants and Routing and/or Verification Mechanisms. The EPC plans to launch the EPC Directory Service on 1 September 2025 to allow scheme participants and Routing and/or Verification Mechanisms to prepare ahead of the Verification Of Payee scheme go-live on 5 October 2025. The pilot is planned to start in early May 2025 and run in two phases; phase one participants are expected to meet the preconditions set out in the EPC response form (EPC111-25) and submit it by 24 April 2025 at 18:00 CET. The EPC will provide feedback to all candidates, and selected participants will receive a briefing ahead of the pilot’s start.

The European Payments Council has initiated a call for participation in the first phase of the pilot for its EPC Directory Service, aimed at enhancing cross-border interoperability for the API-based Verification Of Payee scheme. The pilot, starting in May 2025, will prepare participants for the scheme's official launch on 5 October 2025. Selected participants will receive feedback and a briefing prior to the pilot's commencement.
