Indonesia's Financial Services Authority has published its 2025 Indonesian Islamic Finance Development Report, showing that total Islamic finance assets rose 8.56% year on year to a record IDR 3,131.02 trillion. The authority attributed the industry’s continued growth partly to sector development policies and a strengthened regulatory framework following the 2023 Financial Sector Development and Strengthening Law. Islamic banking assets increased 8.92% to IDR 1,067.73 trillion, while Islamic capital market assets excluding Islamic equity market capitalization grew 8.18% to IDR 1,875.25 trillion. Assets in Islamic insurance, guarantee and pension fund businesses rose 10.59% to IDR 74.27 trillion, and assets across financing, venture capital, microfinance and other financial services institutions increased 10.29% to IDR 124.51 trillion. The authority will continue developing the sector through regulations, sectoral road maps and policies aimed at strengthening competitiveness. Its Islamic Finance Development Committee, established in June 2025, will support coordination, information exchange and more integrated policymaking.
