The Central Bank of Russia reported that annual growth in broad money, or M2X, slowed to 12.9% in June, as month-on-month growth weakened primarily because of a decline in foreign currency deposits. Lending to the economy also expanded more slowly than in May, although its annual growth rate remained broadly unchanged at 9.9%. Credit to the economy remained the main source of money supply growth, while fiscal operations continued to make a positive contribution.
