The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City published its October Services Survey, reporting that services activity in the Tenth Federal Reserve District fell slightly in October while expectations for future services activity remained positive. The release noted that the regional decline continued but at a slower pace, with consumer services showing strength as business services posted declines. More than half of surveyed firms reported that artificial intelligence had not affected their business strategy. The survey’s historical indexes differ slightly from previously released numbers because the August survey adopted new seasonal adjustment factors using Census X-13 ARIMA-SEATS, which will be used throughout 2025.
