The National Bank of Serbia announced that the Post of Serbia has enabled customers to execute payment orders marked “urgent” as instant payments at its counters, on request. The service covers payment orders up to RSD 300,000, with funds credited to the recipient within seconds via the National Bank of Serbia’s Instant Payment System (IPS). Under the IPS arrangement, the Post of Serbia participates indirectly and routes its instant payment orders through its direct participant, Postal Savings Bank a.d. Belgrade. The central bank also recalled that since April 2021 the Post of Serbia has offered instant payments for fees, taxes, and other charges to accounts of public administration bodies.
