The Reserve Bank of New Zealand has commenced recruitment for the Assistant Governor Financial Stability role, described as one of its most senior and visible leadership positions with responsibilities central to New Zealand’s financial system stability. Financial stability leadership and functions will continue during the recruitment process, with Angus McGregor remaining Acting Assistant Governor Financial Stability and Stan Christian remaining Acting Director Prudential Supervision. The Bank has engaged Hobson Leavy to run the executive search and expects interest from internal, domestic and international candidates, with a further update to follow once the process is complete and an appointment expected to be announced in June 2026.
