South Africa's National Treasury announced that the South African government will participate in the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland from 19 to 23 January 2026, under the theme “A Spirit of Dialogue”, led by Minister of Finance Enoch Godongwana. The delegation will use the forum to present South Africa’s improving economic position and to position the country as an investment destination. The delegation includes the Ministers of International Relations and Cooperation, Electricity and Energy, Tourism, and Small Business Development. Messaging will highlight recent developments including stabilisation of electricity supply, removal from the Financial Action Task Force greylist, and an upgrade of South Africa’s sovereign credit rating by S&P Global, alongside progress on structural reforms across energy, logistics, water, digital communications and small business, framed within a medium-term growth strategy built on macroeconomic stability, accelerated reforms, strengthened state capability and investment in growth-enhancing infrastructure.
