Ukraine’s National Commission on Securities and Stock Market and the Ministry of Economy, Ministry of Finance, National Bank of Ukraine and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development signed a memorandum of understanding to coordinate work on an integrated capital markets infrastructure for Ukraine. The cooperation is intended to support a vertically integrated market infrastructure spanning the full cycle from trading and reporting through clearing, settlement and accounting, with the aim of improving efficiency, transparency and attractiveness for strategic investors. Under the memorandum, the parties will jointly implement a comprehensive model for market development and maintain ongoing dialogue with market participants, with objectives that include supporting sustainable economic growth and reducing the cost of capital for businesses and the state. The initiative is also positioned as a step toward gradually integrating Ukraine’s capital market infrastructure into the global financial ecosystem.
