The Central Bank of the Bahamas has issued a request for proposals for a Fast Payment System solution, seeking a qualified firm to design, supply, implement and provide ongoing support for real-time payments on a continuous basis. The planned FPS is intended to ensure interoperability with existing domestic payment and settlement platforms, including the Automated Clearing House, the Real Time Gross Settlement System and the Bahamas central bank digital currency SandDollar. The solution is also expected to support both direct and indirect participation by commercial banks, credit unions and other domestic payment service institutions. Questions on the RFP must be submitted by 30 November 2025, and electronic bids are due by 4:00 PM (EDT) on 19 December 2025.
