The Central Bank of Latvia has approved its Statistical Programme for 2026 and set out a Medium-Term Statistical Work Programme for 2027–2029, detailing planned statistical collections and publications across the coming years. For 2026, the programme describes the types of statistics compiled, the legal framework, compilation frequency and deadlines, and the reporting agents and main users. Key developments include new statistical reporting requirements for insurers aligned with amendments to European Union law, the start of publishing statistical data on the second and third pension pillars on www.manapensija.lv, and household interviews for the sixth Household Finance and Consumption Survey in cooperation with the Central Statistical Bureau of Latvia. The 2026 programme includes 19 new statistical tasks. The 2027–2029 plan comprises 11 tasks, including launching new insurer data collection, publishing direct investment statistics in accordance with NACE Revision 2.1, and starting compilation and publication of household wealth statistics.
