The statement breaks down positions across the European Central Bank and participating national central banks. Euro-denominated securities issued by euro area residents accounted for EUR 3.743 trillion of assets, including EUR 3.388 trillion held for monetary policy purposes. Monetary policy lending to euro area credit institutions stood at EUR 36.229 billion. On the liability side, banknotes in circulation totaled EUR 1.638 trillion, while monetary policy-related liabilities to euro area credit institutions were EUR 2.323 trillion, comprising EUR 1.967 trillion in the deposit facility and EUR 356.151 billion in current accounts.
