The Bank of the Lao convened a half-day specialist-work seminar for members of its youth grassroots organisation, focusing on the LFX foreign exchange market and an overview of deposit protection work. More than 100 youth committee members and participants attended. The programme covered (i) building understanding of the LFX foreign exchange market and (ii) deposit protection work in domestic and international contexts, with the sessions framed as supporting the youth organisation’s end-2025 activity plan by strengthening technical capabilities, reinforcing internal cohesion, and encouraging foreign-currency exchange conducted outside the formal system to move into the regulated system through the LFX mechanism.
