The National Bank of Serbia reported that its IPS NBS instant payment system processed a record 446,513 payments totalling RSD 5,641,248,199.17 on 15 January 2025, marking the highest daily transaction count since the system began operating. IPS NBS operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, enabling citizens and businesses to initiate payments at any time, including weekends and non-working days, with funds available to the payee within seconds. The system has been live since 22 October 2018, and the central bank pointed to a high and continuously growing volume of payments since launch.
