The Central Bank of Eswatini, acting for the Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini, has announced the issuance of a SZL 200 million government infrastructure bond maturing on 31 July 2034. The bond carries a fixed coupon of 10.75% and is intended to raise capital for infrastructure projects. It will be sold through a competitive multiple bid auction on 28 July 2026 and is open to individual, corporate and institutional investors. Bids must be submitted through the four local commercial banks acting as primary dealers. The issuer may allocate up to an additional 100% of the amount on offer through an overallotment option. Minimum bid sizes are SZL 10,000 for individual non-competitive bidders and SZL 5,000,000 for institutional direct bidders. The bond will be issued in paperless form through the Central Securities Depository, pays interest on 31 January and 31 July, uses an Actual/365 day count convention, and its interest income is not subject to withholding tax. The auction is scheduled for 28 July 2026, with settlement on 31 July 2026. Auction results will be published on the central bank's website immediately after the auction, and secondary market trading in multiples of SZL 10,000 is set to begin on 10 August 2026.
