The Kenya Capital Markets Authority approved four market intermediary licence applications, expanding the range of brokerage, fund management, investment advisory and corporate trustee services available in Kenya. Kestrel Capital (East Africa) Limited may upgrade from a stockbroker to a broker-dealer, while Hass Crest Capital Limited, Livonna Advisory Partners Ltd and Liaison Wealth Limited received fund manager, investment adviser and corporate trustee licences, respectively. Kestrel may now deal in securities as principal and undertake proprietary and fixed-income trading, securities placement, liquidity provision and securities issuance arrangements. Hass Crest intends to operate as a Sharia-compliant fund manager focused on Sukuk, asset-backed and alternative investments. Livonna will provide fee-based advice to high-net-worth individuals, family offices and institutions, while Liaison Wealth will provide fiduciary oversight and safeguard assets within collective investment schemes.
