Outstanding bank deposits fell 1.1 percent to MDL 143,309 million, while claims on the economy rose 1.3 percent to MDL 111,981 million. The decline in deposits was driven by a 6.3 percent drop in foreign currency deposits, partly offset by a 1.6 percent increase in deposits in national currency. Claims in national currency increased 2.0 percent, while foreign currency claims expressed in MDL decreased 1.0 percent. Expressed in EUR, foreign currency claims on the economy stood at EUR 1,305 million, down 0.7 percent from March 2026.
