The Egypt Financial Regulatory Authority’s board met Dr Islam Azzam following his appointment as Chairman of the Board of the Egyptian Exchange, and formally thanked him for his contributions while serving as the Authority’s vice-chair and a board member. The meeting pointed to closer coordination in the period ahead to support capital market development, including measures to increase market depth through the introduction of new financial instruments and products, while prioritising market stability and investor protection alongside higher liquidity and trading. Azzam’s appointment to the Egyptian Exchange chair was issued by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly for a one-year term.
