The Financial Action Task Force of Latin America (GAFILAT) held the 22nd meeting of contact points of its Asset Recovery Network (RRAG) in San José, Costa Rica, on 24–26 June 2025, under the mandate of its Plenary of Representatives and within the Operational Support Working Group. The meeting focused on sharing operational experience and discussing common strategic challenges, including how to ensure the network’s long-term sustainability. Contact points participated from Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, the Dominican Republic and Uruguay, alongside the World Bank, the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, the Basel Institute on Governance’s International Centre for Asset Recovery, El PAcCTO, the Camden Asset Recovery Inter-Agency Network and Spain’s Centre for Intelligence against Terrorism and Organised Crime. The agenda combined training, a briefing on statistics on use of the RRAG platform and information exchange with other networks, and case-based discussions on asset identification, investigation and recovery, as well as challenges in handling RRAG requests and potential improvements to strengthen cooperation.
