The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has warned that some entities and individuals are providing remittance or other financial services without the required licence or authorization. Transactions with these providers may expose customers to fraud, loss of funds without recourse or compensation, criminal misuse and legal consequences, including fines and prosecution. Consumers should verify providers against the Reserve Bank’s official list or check for an ADLA certificate at their premises. Money transfers should be conducted through registered ADLAs and banks, while suspected unlicensed operators should be reported to the Reserve Bank, law enforcement agencies or the Financial Intelligence Unit.
