The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) has made the first official exams available under its new proficiency model for investment dealer approved persons and prospective candidates, with exam design and delivery supported by Fitch Learning. The proficiency rules underpinning the model took effect on 1 January 2026 and apply to Investment Dealers and their approved persons. Ahead of the launch, CIRO published exam syllabi, study guides and practice exams to support learners, firms and education providers. Fitch Learning has also set up harmonized enrolment and candidate portals, plus a firm portal for CIRO dealer members to track and manage candidates and enable bulk enrolments, with the same portal infrastructure also used for CIRO mandatory Conduct Training for existing approved persons.

CIRO has also provided exam syllabi, study guides, and practice exams, and established portals for enrolment and candidate management.
