The European Central Bank reported total assets and liabilities of EUR 5.927 trillion as of Aug. 14, an increase of EUR 4.285 billion from the previous week due to transactions. Monetary policy lending to euro area credit institutions rose by EUR 678 million to EUR 30.769 billion, while securities held for monetary policy purposes declined by EUR 200 million to EUR 3.381 trillion. On the liabilities side, balances related to monetary policy operations increased by EUR 7.911 billion to EUR 2.335 trillion. Deposit facility balances rose by EUR 23.113 billion to EUR 2.004 trillion, while current account balances fell by EUR 15.202 billion to EUR 330.803 billion.
