The Bank of Korea reported that industrial loans by depository corporations increased by KRW 30.6 trillion in the second quarter of 2026, following a KRW 30.8 trillion rise in the first quarter. Outstanding industrial lending reached KRW 2,065.3 trillion at the end of June, up 4.7% from a year earlier. Working capital loans accounted for KRW 23.8 trillion of the quarterly increase, while facilities investment loans rose by KRW 6.9 trillion. Depository banks expanded lending by KRW 29.3 trillion, compared with KRW 1.3 trillion at non-bank depository institutions. Service-sector loans grew by KRW 19.9 trillion, including increases of KRW 6.2 trillion each for finance and insurance and real estate activities, while manufacturing loans rose by KRW 8.4 trillion.
