The National Bank of Georgia hosted a delegation from the National Bank of Kazakhstan under a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation and facilitating the exchange of expertise and information, including in financial technologies, payment systems and the regulation of virtual asset service providers. Across sessions with multiple departments, the Georgian central bank shared experience on macroprudential policy, its sustainable finance framework, the bank resolution framework, microfinance sector regulation, and the regulation and risk management of payment service providers and virtual asset service providers, as well as cybersecurity. The programme also included a meeting with the First Vice-Governor of the National Bank of Georgia, Ekaterine Mikabadze, focused on the importance of institutional cooperation.
