Mexico's National Commission for the Protection and Defence of Users of Financial Services (CONDUSEF) awarded Banco Santander México S.A. the “Commitment in Service to Older Adults” badge following the bank’s renewal of its protocol for serving older adult customers. The badge recognises financial institutions that provide dignified, prioritised and non-discriminatory service. The recognition was framed by the growing participation of people aged 60 and over in the financial system, with nearly 18 million in this age group, and Santander Mexico serving more than 1.3 million older adult customers. The updated approach is positioned as supporting clearer customer information, improved in-branch experience and practices that anticipate risks, alongside actions to strengthen financial education for older adults; the badge was formally presented and the protocol signed in the presence of representatives from both organisations.
