The National Bank of the Republic of Tajikistan discussed practical cooperation on financial messaging, anti-money laundering and counterterrorist financing, correspondent banking and cross-border payments with US Federal Reserve Bank representatives at a meeting in Miami. First Deputy Chairman Firuz Sharifzoda led the Tajik delegation, extending engagement that included talks with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York in April on correspondent accounts and international operations. The discussions covered aligning banking infrastructure and internal processes with international requirements, applying modern financial messaging standards, strengthening AML/CFT risk management and controls, and improving the efficiency of international settlements. The parties also supported technical consultations, training and exchanges on monetary policy, banking supervision, payment systems and financial security, and expressed readiness to continue dialogue in these areas.
