The International Monetary Fund published a technical assistance report documenting a scoping mission to support Gabon’s Ministry of Economy and Participations in developing a macroeconomic model for projections and simulations based on financial programming. The report sets out the mission’s findings and recommendations, which were endorsed by the authorities and incorporated into the project action plan. The mission, conducted in Libreville from May 5 to 15, 2025, assessed existing analytical tools and data quality and delivered targeted training on financial programming and debt analysis. It identified areas where current tools and organizational arrangements need strengthening and recommended a customized model, fully integrated with a Debt Dynamics Tool, supported by ongoing capacity building and strengthened inter-institutional coordination. The report is available in French only.
