The National Bank of Moldova announced that an official delegation led by Governor Anca Dragu is participating in the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group Spring Meetings in Washington, DC, taking place from 21 to 26 April 2025, alongside Moldova’s wider country delegation. The visit includes a programme of high-level bilateral meetings focused on priority directions for developing Moldova’s financial sector. Planned discussions with IMF counterparts include meetings with First Deputy Managing Director Kenji Okamura, European Department Director Alfred Kammer, Executive Director for Moldova Jeroen Clicq and IMF Mission Chief for Moldova Alina Iancu, covering Moldova’s macroeconomic developments and outlook, performance under the IMF programme, and the central bank’s reform agenda in the context of Moldova’s integration into the Single Euro Payments Area and the European community. Meetings are also scheduled with World Bank Group representatives including Executive Director for Moldova Eugene Rhuggenaath and Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Antonella Bassani, as well as other international institutions including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; the delegation includes First Deputy Governor Petru Rotaru and Deputy Governor Mihnea Constantinescu, together with Finance Minister Victoria Belous.
