The Bank of France announced that the Bank of Finland has used the Market Activities Processing System since 20 April 2026 to process all of its market operations. The move extends the use of the central-bank-run platform within the European System of Central Banks. MAPS is supplied and operated by the Bank of France and the Bank of Spain. MAPS has been in operation since November 2016 and is built on Nasdaq-Calypso. It supports front office, back office, risk management and accounting functions, and includes hosting and day-to-day operational management services. Existing users already include the Bank of France, the Bank of Spain, and the central banks of Cyprus, the Netherlands, Malta and Ireland. The platform is open to all members of the European System of Central Banks, and other central banks are considering joining in the coming years.
