The Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) has opened and is hosting the 50th Annual Meeting of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) in Doha as a three-day event bringing together global securities regulators and capital markets experts to discuss market challenges, including digitalization, cybersecurity and market sustainability. The first day drew senior IOSCO leadership and high-level representatives from more than 130 IOSCO member states and international financial institutions. The programme included closed-door meetings of IOSCO committees and discussions on market efficiency and investor protection, capital market infrastructure, transparency and disclosure, and developments in fintech, artificial intelligence and sustainability, with committee sessions including the Affiliate Members Consultative Committee, the Asia-Pacific, Africa and Middle East, Inter-American and European Regional Committees, and the Growth and Emerging Markets Committee.
