The Central Bank of Uruguay has, for the first time, published the data series used to produce the charts in its Monetary Policy Report, making the underlying information available to the public. The move gives researchers, analysts and students direct access to the data used in the report and makes the bank's monetary policy analysis easier to review and reuse. From this edition of the Monetary Policy Report onward, an Excel file containing the information used to build the report's charts will be released alongside the document. The publication will follow applicable confidentiality and microdata protection criteria, so not all data used in the bank's analytical processes will necessarily be disclosed. The bank links the change to its broader effort to expand access to public information and improve the replicability of the analysis presented in the report.
